We are Camp Kimanganu Safari Lodge, based in Moshi, Tanzania. We do not collect your personal information unless you choose to give it to us, and we do not sell it to anyone. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We have written it in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your information.

Who we are

What information we collect

We only collect information that you give us directly. This happens in three ways:

1. When you contact us through our website form

Our website has a contact form. When you fill it in, we receive your name, your email address, and whatever message you write to us. We use this to respond to your enquiry and nothing else.

2. When you contact us on WhatsApp or by email

When you message us on WhatsApp or send an email to info@campkimanganu.com, we receive your message and the contact details attached to it. We use this to respond to you and to manage your booking if one is made.

3. When you make a booking with us

To confirm your reservation, we need a few practical details from you:

• Your full name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your arrival and departure dates
• The number of guests in your party
• Payment confirmation details

We do not store credit card numbers. Payment details are used only to confirm your deposit and are not retained after that.

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a tool provided by Google that helps us understand how visitors use the site. It collects anonymous information such as which pages are visited, how long people stay, and what country they are visiting from. It does not collect your name or contact details.

Google Analytics uses cookies, which are small files placed on your browser. You can block cookies at any time through your browser settings. To learn more about how Google handles this data, you can visit Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com.

We may in future also use Facebook Pixel, a similar tool that helps us understand how people find our website through social media. If and when we introduce this, we will update this policy to reflect it.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us for one purpose: to help you plan and enjoy your stay at Camp Kimanganu. Specifically, we use it to:

• Respond to your enquiry or booking request
• Confirm and manage your reservation
• Communicate with you about your stay, including arrival details and any changes
• Send you a receipt or booking confirmation

We do not use your information for marketing without your permission. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.

How we store and protect your information

Your information is stored in our email and WhatsApp communications. We do not use a third party customer database or CRM system. Our email account is protected with a strong password and two factor authentication.

We keep your booking information for a period of three years, which is standard practice for business records in Tanzania. After that, we delete it.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third party.

The only situation in which we might share your details is if you ask us to connect you with a Kilimanjaro trekking operator or safari company. In that case, we would only share what is necessary and only with your knowledge and consent.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us at any time:

• What personal information we hold about you
• To correct any information that is wrong
• To delete your information from our records
• To receive a copy of the information we hold about you

Guests from the European Union

If you are visiting us from the European Union, you are protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means you have full rights over your personal data as described above, and we are committed to handling your information in line with those standards.

Changes to this policy

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update this page with the new version and the date it was last updated. We recommend checking this page occasionally if you are a returning guest.
